New Delhi: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd on Friday announced a price increase of up to 1.5% across its passenger vehicle range, including both internal combustion engine (ICE) models and electric vehicles (EVs), with effect from 1 July.
The company said the revision is aimed at partly offsetting rising production costs and persistent inflationary pressures that have intensified amid supply-chain disruptions linked to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
The latest hike comes less than three months after Tata Motors increased prices of its ICE passenger vehicle lineup from 1 April.
In a regulatory filing, the automaker said it continues to absorb a substantial portion of the cost escalation but has decided to pass on part of the burden to customers.
"The extent of the price increase will vary across models and variants, ensuring that the overall value proposition of each is maintained," the company said.
According to Tata Motors, the adjustment is necessary to address higher input costs while maintaining operational sustainability in a challenging market environment.
The move follows similar price revisions by other major carmakers. Market leader Maruti Suzuki India increased prices across several models by up to ₹30,000 from 1 June, citing inflationary trends and higher operating costs.
Hyundai Motor India also revised vehicle prices from 1 June, raising rates by up to ₹12,800 depending on the model and variant.
Automobile manufacturers have increasingly pointed to higher raw material costs, logistics expenses and broader economic pressures as reasons for recent price increases across the sector.
